100 Replies to “Father John Misty – “God’s Favorite Customer” [Full Album]”

  1. An album of delicious songs. Fun, gloomy, dark and sophisticated. Lots of Elton John influence. Fantastic!

  2. Dear Daddy Jack, master of covers — submitted for consideration: The Moombeam Song – Harry Nilsson & Whispering Pines – Richard Manuel.

  3. This album is very timely… I feel like the whole energy of each song is a breakup with the alter egos manifested through the last albums… it's like a goodbye honey bear and fear fun and hello to this new world that currently looks slightly bleak and unknowing of future… thank you so much Mr. Misty for pumping our face holes with your creative awesomeness.

  4. you are so beautiful, and this is pure love. please keep making music so we can feel this catharsis in a time that so desperately needs this feeling. <3 <3 <3

  5. This album is phenomenal… it grows on you insanely – went and bought the Vinyl yesterday and sounds brilliant!!

  6. I cunt tell if this is churchy music. But I'm glad he's spreading the word about the reptilian empire take over

  7. your crushingly cynical songs, so depressing and sad, make me feel full of life, make me get on my bike, make me want to hold onto to life – and perhaps thats what you wanted? daddy John youre devious, daddy John knows his psychoanalysis , daddy John your heart is full of callouses and I love you … Honeybear . .

  8. Hey, I'm an aspiring musician and have just put an album out myself, partly inspired by the genius that is Father John Misty. I would appreciate it if you could have a listen and let me know what you think! It's a guitar/spoken word/pop type thing that I just put under the genre of "Wizard Poetry" (I hope that hasn't been invented before I've used it): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CQ1ottTikJA

  9. Great video!! check out my cover of Father John's new song "Gilded Cage" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SeJayycYIhM

  10. This gets me with its intimacy, simplicity, and beautiful song constructions. By "gets me" I mean tears me into tiny little whimpering pieces.

  11. Just saw them in Boise, ID and it was one of the best shows that I have seen in a long time. If you have a chance go check them out, they tore it up.

  12. If this isn't up for Album of the Year… the Grammy's will cement the fact they're a joke – this album is pure songwriting genius -I'm humbled

  13. Saw him in Kansas City last night. I painted the tear drops on my face and went in with big expectations. I never expected what happened. It was the most amazing, awe inspiring show I have ever been to. I cried during The Palace. If you can, go see him. We drive seven hours to get there and it was fully worth every mile traveled and every dollar spent.

  14. This lyric is genius and so full of emotion… I tear up every time I hear it…. everytime….

  16. My husband came into our restroom and played "Just Dumb Enough to Try" while I was in the shower… it was the single most sweetest thing anyone has ever done for me.

  17. What an amazing album. I discovered this on deployment, and stayed in my rack, in the dark for three days straight with this album on repeat

  18. It's good to know that although you are aware that the future is already predetermined that you still have a positive outlook on things

  19. I learned that from you're working on the helplessness Blues album title track and from the fear fun album both classic

  20. This album wasn't on any bullshit 'album of the year' lists but it is, quite easily, the best album of 2018.

  21. I met him last October. in OKC.  All I could think to say was that im a horny manchild mamas boy too lol smh hopefully I can redeem myself at some point

  22. This might be an unpopular opinion (I really don't know lol) but this just might be my favorite of his albums. Very sad, yet still has that humor he's known for. It's just a bit self detrimental this time around.

  23. I can't be the only one who doesn't see the resemblance to Elton John. The whole foundation and composition of his work are vastly different. And that's a good thing.

  24. is it just me or does he sound at times like a depressed John Lennon? that piano sound though… interesting piece of work..not necessarily my favorite but I appreciate the quality of the work. Well done Sir.

  25. This might be a bit heavy to share on here, but this album came out the day after my dad was very suddenly hospitalized in what would become the beginning of his decline in health that would result in his passing six months later. This album felt perfectly fitting for how grim, confusing, and sad my life had suddenly become, and it helped me get through it all. I saw Josh live a month before my dad would pass and I couldn't help but cry during Please Don't Die. For admittedly personal reasons, this album has become one of my favorites more quickly than most manage to, and I'm thankful it came out right when I needed it most. Happy first anniversary, baby 🎉🎉🎉

  26. It’s one year today, July 3rd, that you passed away. I hope you happy wherever you are and we end up meeting again one day.
